Our History

A dive in to the past

The need for a high school for English speaking students in the northern suburbs of Germiston led to the establishment of Dawnview High School under the Headmastership of Mr. Hudson in 1962 and Mr. Z Annadale in 1963. The school of 425 pupils was temporarily housed in Laerskool President until the present building was occupied in 1966. The School was officially opened on 25 February 1967 by Mr. A.J. Koen, Director of Education.

The School Governing Body

A Message from The School Governing Body

We are a vision driven organisation. We strive to build a solid foundation for the academic excellence for our children. We strive to establish an organisational culture where all stakeholders have a shared meaning and a common perception about the aims and objectives of the institution. A culture where staff members are free to be innovative, take risks, exhibit precision, organise activities around teams rather than individuals, and focus on results or positive outcomes. There are no boundaries that prevent us from reaching the highest levels of success. Teamwork becomes our basic guiding principle to success.
